Nicola Godliman went out for a day of swimming at Hayling Beach, Hampshire with her daughter, Poppy, and niece, Keira. The three women were having a great time until the two young girls got dragged further out to sea by the strong currents.

The two girls soon realized that they weren’t able to touch the bottom of the sea anymore and started panicking. They tried swimming back to shore, but the strong currents were pulling them back out.

It wasn’t long until the two young girls got tired and they eventually started going under. One of the girls, Keira, positioned her body to float while Poppy continued to panic and struggle.

Nicola rushed in to try and rescue her daughter, Poppy, from drowning but was soon caught by the strong currents and dragged out to sea as well. Soon enough, all three women were panicking and struggling to survive.

To make matters worse, no one was around the area at that time to help. Thankfully, Guy Jenner was passing by with his son, Tom. They were walking dogs and happened to see the three women in trouble.

Instinctively, Guy and his son Tom acted quickly and plunged into the water to attempt saving the three women. The dog they were walking named Dave also joined in on the rescue.

Dave reached Nicola first and pulled her back to the edge of the shore where she watched, hoping that it wasn’t too late to save her daughter and niece. The other dog named Baxter, jumped in the water and helped Tom pull Keira to safety.

Poppy was already out of energy and couldn’t keep herself afloat anymore when Dave came to her rescue. The black Labrador reached Poppy just in time, and he started to drag her out of the water.

Thanks to Guy, his son, Tom, and the two dogs they were walking, Dave and Baxter, the three women survived to tell the story. What should have been a tragedy for Nicola and the two girls became a remarkable story for them to tell.

Besides being thankful for saving their lives, the three girls stated that they gained new friends from their ordeal and would often go on dog walks together with Guy, Tom, and the dogs. Here’s a video showing the story of how Dave and his two human companions rescued these women.
