A family from Monroe, Ohio, credited their dog for saving their son from a possibly life-threatening situation. They said that if it weren’t for Ember, a Pit Bull they have adopted from a local rescue shelter, their son, Tre, would have had received no medical attention at the earliest time possible.

Ember to the rescue

Tony and Tracy Daniels, the parents of Tre, were sleeping in their room when Ember went to their bedside. The dog was not barking but was making loud grumbling noises relentlessly.  Ember wouldn’t stop waking them up until Tracy stood up. The Pit Bull led her to the bathroom, where Tracy found Tre.

Tracy saw Tre’s legs hanging over the side of the bathtub, with his body inside it. Tre was lying on his back with his head going back and forth. He was having a seizure. Tracy then alerted her husband, who called emergency services right away. Fortunately for Tre, he was found before anything fatal happened to him.

Tracy shared photos of the ordeal, including the trip to the emergency station, on her social media account. In her post, she credited Ember for the timely rescue. She also mentioned Adore-A-Bull, the organization that had united Ember with the family.

The Daniels family hopes that by sharing their story, the stigma behind Pit Bulls would be removed. They want everyone to know that Pit Bulls are some of the most adorable pets to have around and that they should feel safe and be comfortable in adopting them.

In a statement, Tony Daniels, who is a firefighter, said that he had had a few encounters where Pit Bulls were aggressive during their operations. But he insists that it is not about the breed; it is about the owner. Any dog can be trained to be aggressive, but they can also be trained to be nurturing and loving pets.
