It is perfectly normal for people to feel a bit of jealousy when they can see competition getting the best of other people’s attention. A sibling can sometimes feel they are being set aside when a newborn baby is added to the family. When parents spend more time on the baby and less on the older child, some kids will act up to get their parents attention.
Just like humans, dogs can get a little jealous over something. What’s adorable is that dogs express their emotions raw. In a viral video posted by a Facebook page named Animal Tales, a charming Golden Retriever can be seen refusing to acknowledge the newborn little dog. The post has reached 139 million views, 1.3 million reactions, 76 thousand comments, and 1.1 million shares over the last year from being posted.
In the video, the Golden retriever’s owner is holding a newborn puppy and tries to introduce to him to his dad, the older Golden retriever. But instead of acknowledging the puppy, the older Golden retriever tried to back away a little bit. His owner attempted to place the pup on the dog’s shoulders, that’s when he moved away and laid down on the other side of the sofa and covered his face with a pillow. This hilarious dog clearly iterated he has nothing to do with the pup and is not willing to shoulder responsibilities. His owner thinks he is just being silly and playful in the situation.
Some dogs could not adjust to changes abruptly. Specific dog breeds display resistance in accepting new members of their pack. Once they get the hang of it, dogs protect their pack and consider them as part of the family that they need to defend. It takes an average of two weeks for dogs to form a bond. And when they bonded, there is no stopping them from doing what they love doing together all the time.
