If you intend to maximize fertility in breeding dogs, you need to determine and estimate the female’s day of evolution. As a result, the luteinizing hormone will be given to the female dogs so that ovulation can be controlled. Also, this helps in the regulation of the bitch’s cycle. This will give you to time the breeding process. Understand that the period of maximum fertility occurs five to six days shortly after the LH has reached peak state.

During this time, understand that you can do multiple breedings. This is easily done by inseminating the bitch up to three times in a week. Also, consider the rise in the level of progesterone. You can use frozen semen or fresh chilled semen. A single insemination should be done five to six days after the LH hormones get to the peak.
