Sometimes, we would see the most unusual things that almost looks impossible to be true. For one offshore oil rig worker, he found a dog swimming towards the oil rig he was on, which was 135-miles offshore. Along with his fellow workers in the oil rig, Vitisak helped the dog by rescuing him from drowning.

Vitisak and the rest of the crew didn’t know how the dog found its way swimming in the ocean. However, most fishermen along the coast of Thailand would bring their dogs on board to keep them company. They suspected that the dog they just rescued from drowning would have come from one of the many boats fishing in the area.

Vitisak provided the dog with a temporary home in his room in the oil rig. The crew also helped by donating some of their food to the dog. However, they knew that an oil platform is a dangerous place for a dog to stay in and that the dog needed to be shipped back to shore. Thankfully, a supply boat coming in to resupply the oil platform agreed to take the dog back to Thailand.

sad, dog, animal

A local animal rescue organization gave the dog a temporary home, and Vitisak also expressed that he’s willing to adopt the dog if no one claims him. The dog was named Boonrod, which is Thai for “survivor.” Days went by, and no one claimed Boonrod.

As soon as Vitisak was on leave, he went straight to the animal shelter where Boonrod temporarily lived. When Vitisak was picking up Boonrod, Boonrod recognized him immediately and showed his appreciation by jumping up to his new dad to give him puppy kisses.

Vitisak considers Boonrod as his son. Boonrod is accepted into Vitisak’s family and became so spoiled, especially by Vitisak’s parents and sister. Here’s a heartwarming video of Boonrod finally getting adopted and having a forever home after surviving swimming in the middle of the ocean.
