A boy who’s two years old wandered off and got lost. The boy’s mom said that while playing with his cousins, the boy wandered off without being noticed. It was a scary ordeal for the whole family.

The family tried looking for the boy but couldn’t find him. That’s when they reported it to the police.

There were around 200 volunteers who joined in finding the boy. There were also 2 bloodhounds trained to look for missing people. Fire departments from several towns joined as well as the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

It took them a number of hours to locate the boy. A state trooper and a deputy saw him via the heat-seeking video on the patrol helicopter. They were surprised to see the heat signature not only of the boy but also of two dogs.

What happened was that when the little boy decided to explore, the family’s two dogs decided to join him. The dogs were Ella Grace, the springer spaniel mom, and Madeline, the puppy. Those dogs knew that they had to keep the boy company.

The authorities think that the boy survived and was safe because of the two dogs who kept him company. Plus, they are thankful that the dogs were there with the boy because it helped them see the pack faster via the heat-seeking helicopter.

Lt. Vic Weiss is the sheriff of Stearns County, and he said that they were surprised that the lost boy actually wasn’t scared or sad or crying when they found him. He was just hungry and cold. Most kids who are lost are crying or sad or scared when they are found.

He also said that when they found the boy, the momma dog took a protective stance when they got closer. The dog surely was there to protect the little boy.
