Cricket is a 5-year-old miniature pony that lives with his mom, Callie Schenker, in Missouri. He was only a few months old, very thin and underweight, didn’t look much, and was auctioned for only $80 when Schenker first met him. But despite that, Schenker was promptly smitten with the tiny pony.

“He didn’t look much but I said, I need to have him,” said Schenker. “I just wanted to have Cricket. And until now, I still just the same.”

Cricket lost one of his eyes due to an accident. But no matter what, he stayed delightful and charming as he initially was. And according to Schenker, Cricket loves belly rubs and follows her like dogs do. But she never imagined Cricket will make a bond with an unlikely creature.

One night, Schenker came home to her farm when she noticed something strange in the field. As it turns out, the one-eyed little pony was running and playing around with a corgi on his back. Luckily, her phone was handy and she was able to film the scene. Here’s the footage:

“It was astonishing!” said Schenker. “I never thought that, first, a dog could possibly ride him. And, second, Cricket was just allowing him.”

As expected, the video that has been viewed about 6 million times became viral. But some viewers were a little skeptical. They didn’t think a corgi could just hop up on the pony. Some even said that Schenker put him on Cricket and tied him.

But more than anyone else, Schenker was the one left with so many questions. Yet, it didn’t take long to uncover the mystery. About 3 days later, Schenker was in the bedroom when some random noise was heard coming from the outside. There, she found the tandem doing their trick, again.

Schenker rushed to film them but she was late. Still, she didn’t lose hope so she decided to stay. After a while, the corgi started bouncing which seemed to be Cricket’s encouragement. Before long, the corgi was on Cricket’s back. Here it is:

“I kind of had a hunch that’s how they did it. But it was really cool getting to actually see it happen. Maybe, Cricket’s a dog in a pony’s body!”
